In 2014, we at SECLOUS set out to solve a problem others had accepted as unsolvable: security by default. Efficient and easy to use—without compromising confidentiality or data control. For four years, we operated in complete stealth mode: developing, testing, discarding, and rebuilding the foundations of what would later become Non-Visible Data (NVD).

What began as an idea has grown into a patented technology—validated in real-world environments and utilized by partners from critical sectors, with a particular focus on the defense domain.

Our path is shaped by the conviction that security must be integrated directly into data throughout its entire lifecycle: protection that accompanies information from creation to final deletion—independent of networks, devices, or environments.

The central challenge was not protection alone, but connecting protection and control with seamless data sharing and utilization. Our goal was to transform cybersecurity from a business constraint into a business enabler—so that any type of data can be used in a controlled manner, regardless of where it is stored or processed.

Along this path, we have answered fundamental questions others avoided: How can the authenticity of users and data sources be ensured without relying on centralized trust authorities? How can security overhead be minimized without compromising resilience? And how can a new form of decentralized key management be established that is robust enough to function even under operational conditions?

Over the years, each phase of our work has contributed to making this vision a reality. From fundamental research to operational deployment—each stage has further strengthened the maturity of our technology and our mission.

Stealth Mode (2014–2018)

Inventing the Foundations of Non-Visible Data

SECLOUS was founded in November 2014 with a clear ambition: to redefine data protection from the ground up.
During four years of complete stealth mode, we focused exclusively on in-depth technical research and engineering—developing the foundations of Non-Visible Data (NVD).

This phase was characterized by intensive experimentation, architectural breakthroughs, and the development of the intellectual property that underpins our patented technology today. It created the scientific and technical foundation for a new approach to information security: protection as an integral component of the data itself—combined with cryptographic access controls to maintain control even when data is shared.

Validation & Breakthrough (2019–2022)

Proof of Concept & Collaboration with the Defense Sector

With mature core technology, SECLOUS transitioned from research to operational validation. Our technology gained attention from leading cybersecurity institutions and the defense sector.

During this period, we received important validations, including awards such as:

• Research Center Cyber Defense CODE Award (2019 and 2022)

Collaboration with the German Armed Forces marked the decisive breakthrough: NVD demonstrated performance and reliability under real, highly critical conditions. This phase established NVD as a deployable innovation with clear strategic relevance and operational resilience.

Expansion & Recognition (2023–2025)

Scaling and Building Trust Across the Industry

Between 2023 and 2025, SECLOUS deepened its role in the defense sector through additional studies, evaluations, and operational deployments.

The resilience and impact of NVD were recognized industry-wide—including through:

Scaling NVD Across Sectors & Expanding Trusted Collaboration

The next chapter focuses on scaling: NVD is set to evolve from a breakthrough technology to a global standard—to establish “security by default” and strengthen protected data sharing and controlled data utilization across industries.

The next phase includes:

• Expansion of NVD for energy and critical infrastructure sectors
• Broader adoption in the defense ecosystem
• Expansion into collaboration, communication, and interoperability environments
