Data-Centric Security in Practice: Impressions from the infodas Deep Dive in Brussels
How can information remain secure when it needs to be shared across system, organizational, and network boundaries?
The focus was on secure interoperability, trustworthy information exchange, and the future of Data-Centric Security (DCS) in multinational operational and coalition environments.
Another key focus was on NATO’s further development of Data-Centric Security through the introduction of a maturity model. This model supports secure, policy-based information flows between allied nations and industry partners in increasingly complex operational environments.
SECLOUS was represented by CEO Kai Rehnelt. In his presentation , “DCS in Mission Scenarios, ” he demonstrated how current DCS STANAGs can be combined with future-proof solutions for DCS Maturity Level 3—including encryption for tactical data and streaming data.
This is not just about protecting the connection, but about protecting the information itself. This approach is particularly crucial in mission scenarios: with Non-Visible Data (NVD) technology, data can leave networks, be exchanged between partners, or be transported over insecure infrastructures—without losing control over its protection.
“The discussions that day once again highlighted the central role that data-centric security will play in future NATO and allied operations,” said Kai Rehnelt, CEO of SECLOUS.
“It was particularly valuable to hear NATO’s perspective on DCS Levels 1, 2, and 3 and to demonstrate how NVD already supports many of the capabilities required to achieve these goals.”
In addition to the technical presentations, the event provided ample opportunity for discussions with military users, NATO stakeholders, and other technology providers.
SECLOUS would like to thank infodas for the invitation and for organizing a high-quality event.
